Shutdown volunteer schedule: Info for the week of Oct. 7
Hi volunteers! Here’s the latest schedule for the week of Oct. 7, assuming the shutdown continues.
Monday: Great turnout at Crayons2Calculators, where we sorted school supplies that will be free to Durham school teachers. Thanks everyone!
Tuesday: Two options:
- Sandy Creek Park —slated for 9:30. to noon No RSVP needed – and no limit to volunteer numbers! 3510 Sandy Creek Drive, Durham, North Carolina 27705
- Ronald McDonald House Durham (506 Alexander Avenue: 1-3pm. Come help with a range of indoor chores. No RSVP needed. Contact Kevin with any questions.
Wednesday: Packing grocery bags of food for seniors, Inter-faith Food Shuttle. 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. 10 volunteers needed for each session. Waiver form required. See the Wednesday Oct. 9 Volunteer Opportunity post for more details. RSVP to Cheryl Vetter.
Thursday: Eno River State Park canoe launch cleanup. 10 a.m. Meet at the corner of Riverside Drive and US 70 East in Hillsborough (St. Mary’s Road is a nearby cross street). 10 volunteers needed. Scroll down to the Thursday Service Project post for more details and to sign up.
Friday: Habitat for Humanity. 8 a.m. to noon. Never done construction? That’s OK. Come help build homes at Habitat’s White Oak Villas neighborhood in Apex. Habitat will provide equipment and instruction. Please arrive between 8 and 830 a.m. (at the latest), so you’re present for orientation and safety instructions. 20 volunteers needed.
